Chairman and General Manager of CITS Wang Weimin recently held talks with Cambodian Tourism Minister Dr. Thong Khon and his delegation in Beijing on further deepening the diversified cooperation in tourism and duty free shopping.
Dr. Thong Khon briefly introduced the overall tourism market climate in Cambodia, especially outbound tourists from China, pointing out that with the vast potentials of the Chinese tourism market and the time-cherished friendship between China and Cambodia, numerous favorable conditions existed in the bilateral cooperation in tourism and duty free business. He further reassured that the Ministry of Tourism, Cambodia would continue to support the cooperation between CITS and Cambodian enterprises in tourism and trade, among other possible fields.
Wang Weimin spoke on the corporate profile, main businesses and vision for development, proposing plans for future bilateral cooperation based on the current tourist market in Cambodia. He expressed his delight in cooperating with Cambodia, a country with abundant tourism resources, pointing out that such bilateral cooperation should be based on the policy support by the Cambodian government, which shall allow both sides to leverage on their resource advantages and create more business opportunities through channel interconnection and resource sharing, making greater contributions to the collaborative development in tourism industry between China and Cambodia. Currently, CITS Group is actively exploring for the development of an innovative industrial model incorporating cultural tourism industry, e-commerce and duty free business, which shall open up numerous fields for bilateral cooperation such as Cambodian airport duty free store, city duty free store and chartered flight for tourists, foreboding a bright future of cooperation. He expressed the hope for strengthened cooperation for mutual benefit and win-win result.
