During the selection of “Advanced Central Enterprise” jointly carried out by the Ministry of Human Resources and the Social Security and the State Asset Supervision and Administration Commission, China Duty Free Group Co., Ltd. (CDFG) was honored with being an “Advanced Central Enterprise”.
The selection is carried out every five years to commend the central enterprises that have made significant contributions to reform and development, in order to arouse the initiative and creativity of the employees of central enterprises, to stimulate the innovative vitality of grassroots enterprises and employees, and to promote the transformation and upgrading of central enterprises and realize scientific development. The Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security and the State Asset Supervision and Administration Commission awarded 497 enterprises as being an “Advanced Central Enterprise”, and awarded 795 people as being a “Model Employee of Central Enterprises”.
During the “12th Five-Year Plan”, the development of the service industry became the strategic emphasis for the optimization and upgrading of the industrial structure. CDFG strived to implement the “12th Five-Year Plan”, in order to promote diversified development in the travel retail industry. Under the impact of a sluggish world economy, the European debt crisis and reduction of tourists from major tourist source countries, and relying on China’s policy of expanding domestic demand, CDFG seized the opportunity for rapid development in China’s luxury market and the upgrading of Chinese consumption. It achieved a new peak in its own performance and scale, leading the leap of China’s duty-free industry. Taking Sanya Duty Free Store as its base, CDFG has seized the opportunities to ensure the success of off-island duty free business on Hainan Island. Since the implementation of off-island duty-free policy, Sanya Duty Free Store has withstood the test of “October 1st” Golden Week, Spring Festival Golden Week and the adjustment of Hainan off-island duty-free policy. The store has been well recognized by the consumers, the government and the media for its high-end shopping environment, convenient distribution system, high quality products and good service. Therefore, performance of the store is improving continuously.
After receiving this award, CDFG will continue implementing the policy of running the company in accordance with the law and laying a solid management foundation in order to improve its performance. It will set up an image of being a responsible central enterprise through practical actions, and contribute to economic and social development.
