(CDFG) and UnionPay International Co., Ltd. (UnionPay International) jointly launched a six-month “UnionPay CDF Fiesta” in the airport, border and ocean shipping supply duty free shops of CDFG.
From September 26th, 2013 to March 26th, 2014, if customers use UnionPay Cards issued outside of Mainland China at the 9 airport duty free shops in Guangzhou, Shenyang, Hangzhou etc., 3 border duty free shops in Heihe and Suifenhe of Heilongjiang Province, and Ruili in Yunnan Province, they will receive foreign brand miniature wine bottles, or branded chocolate. In addition, CDFG will also cooperate with Star Cruises. The customers will get gift coupons after spending a certain amount with UnionPay Cards issued outside of Mainland China in the CDFG duty free shops on Super Star Virgo, Super Star Aquarius and Star Pisces.
As a landmark activity in China’s duty-free industry, CDFG has established over 200 duty free shops of nine types: in-flight, airport, border, ocean shipping supply, ferry terminal, diplomatic agents, city center and cruise duty free shops. It has become the duty free operator with the most duty free shop types and most retail branches in a single country. In recent years, more customers use credit cards to shop, and China UnionPay credit cards have become a necessity item during inbound and outbound travel.
