• CDFG Participates in SEA JAPAN 2014

In April when Japanese cherry blossoms are in full bloom, the biennial “SEA JAPAN” was ceremoniously held in Tokyo Big Sight, Koto-ku, Tokyo, which had been the 11th edition of the event in the past 20+ years. Since Japan is a world shipbuilding power after Korea and China, SEA JAPAN has also become an event of strategic importance for Japan’s maritime and shipping industries to compete with each other and demonstrate their respective strength.

The latest data released by the Shipbuilders’ Association of Japan show that from January to November, 2013, Japan’s shipbuilding industry had received orders totaling 12.68 million DWT, representing a growth of more than 60% when compared with 8.13 million DWT for year 2012. It was predicted by the association that in 2013, Japan’s shipbuilding industry would see its new order double from last year, indicating recovery of the shipping industry. In 2013, the global top ten shipbuilding enterprises as measured by their shipbuilding tonnage throughout the year included Imabari, Oshima, Tsuneishi and Mitsubishi. As the best market information center for East and North Asia, SEA JAPAN has drawn high attention of the Shipbuilders’ Association of Japan and the Japan Shipowners’ Association, and saw more than 40 new product release conferences and technical seminars held by exhibitors and industrial associations respectively. This event has attracted more than 500 exhibitors and about 20,000 visitors from 27 countries and regions worldwide, hitting a record high.

This year, CDFG first participated in SEA JAPAN with a booth and as a state-owned enterprise of China, with a view to presenting through this platform to worldwide shipowners its major advantages, such as its huge supply network, concentrated purchase pattern, excellent product quality and reasonable prices. Making use of the opportunity, CDFG also introduced its new agent product Swiss flow meter series to exhibitors and visitors from all over the world, with its industrial diversification and high-end orientation impressing global shipowners. Several large management companies and shipowners thought highly of CDFG as a large supplier and expressed their intention to send requests for quote and have long-term cooperation with CDFG in the future.

During the event, CDFG not only developed a great batch of quality shipowners, but also exchanged opinions with established customers present at the event, during which it obtained a great deal of experience and information and also found aspects of their business to be improved, such as enhancement of supply capacity, guarantee of product quality, optimization of service capability and expansion of commodity scope.

SEA JAPAN provides CDFG with a superb exhibition space and a practical and efficient communication platform, and has played a great role in closing the distance between CDFG and its potential customers such as international shipowners and management companies and helping CDFG publicize its advantageous information, expand its customer base, accumulate experience and find out problems. To date, many new customers have submitted their requests for quote and orders, or actively contacted CDFG for business cooperation, and CDFG has also performed some supply services and obtained good appraisal.

CDFG has achieved expected results for its participation in the SEA JAPAN, laying a sound foundation for its further business expansion.
