With regard to the incident that cadmium was detected in Shiseido Anessa Perfect UV Sunscreen, CDFG has made another statement as follows:
In October 2012, CDFG Qingdao Logistic Company imported Shiseido Anessa Perfect UV Sunscreen. According to national specifications, CDFG took the initiative to send the products to the quality supervision department for inspection, and they detected cadmium in the products. CDFG immediately destroyed this batch of 60 products in accordance with the “Announcement on Measures on Inspection & Quarantine of Imported and Exported Cosmetics”. The unqualified products never entered the CDFG’s commodity circulation channels and never been sold in CDFG.
China has strict specifications on the commodities for sale in the duty-free industry. After the products are imported, they are stored in the supervised customs department’s warehouse, and they will only be sold after they pass inspection by quality supervision department. As the largest luxury retail operator in China, CDFG always strictly controls product quality by strictly following relevant national specifications, and it will never allow unqualified products to enter the commodity circulation channels.
CDFG is the only state-owned company approved by Chinese State Council to carry out duty-free business on a national scale. After about 30 years of development, it has established logistic bases in Hong Kong, Dalian, Shanghai, Qingdao and Shenzhen. An advanced management and control system has been adopted in the bases in order to strictly control product quality together with the relevant national quality supervision departments.
In October 2012, CDFG sent the Shiseido Anessa Perfect UV Sunscreen for inspection, detected the problem and quickly and properly dealt with the incident, which was a good demonstration of CDFG’s emphasis on product quality. Since its establishment in 1984, CDFG has always cherished customers’ trust, and only supplies commodities inspected and approved by the national quality supervision department.
