On April 2, a 7.0 Richter scale earthquake struck Ya’an of Sichuan Province, and the hearts of the Chinese people. After the earthquake, many enterprises, social organizations, and the public took immediate action to support the earthquake-struck area in a variety of different ways. As a landmark event in China’s duty-free industry, China Duty Free Group Co., Ltd. (CDFG) joined hands with China Youth Development Foundation once again after the Wenchuan and Yushu earthquakes to carry out the “Love 1 + 1” disaster relief and student sponsorship donation for Ya’an, in order to offer their love to the children in this area, help them overcome the disaster and rebuild their homes as soon as possible.
After the earthquake struck Ya’an of Sichuan Province, CDFG and China Youth Development Foundation (CYDF) straight away started to discuss how to help and decided to initiate the “Love 1 + 1” donation activity in CDFG’s employees, subsidiaries and customers through “China Duty Free Hope Foundation”. “Love 1 + 1” means CDFG will donate RMB 1 for every RMB 1 donated. The donation will be used to reconstruct educational facilities and help children reenter the school program. Meanwhile, CDFG will also report how the donation has been used on its official website and official microblog for the first time, and the entire donation will receive a special audit. The activity lasted until May 20. During this period, the public could participate in the donation activity in the Sanya Duty Free Store, and each border and airport duty free shop of CDFG.
The love will come together bit by bit to form a great power. After the Great Wenchuan Earthquake, the “China Duty Free Hope Foundation” was immediately established. After five years of development, it has become a bridge and a platform for gathering and offering love. Taking advantage of this platform, CDFG will invest more resources and energy in the future, carry out its commitment to public welfare and enrich CDFG’s public welfare undertakings.
