Beijing Sunvillage, namely the Children’s Education and Consultation Center of Sunvillage in Beijing, the former Exceptional Children Relief Department of China Charity Federation (CCF), and a model children village in Beijing, was officially established in Banqiao Village of Zhaoquanying Town in Shunyi District of Beijing City in December 2000. It is a non-governmental charitable organization run through self-financing and is set up in the style of a foster house to raise and educate, for free, children whose parents are in prison. Currently there are less than 100 children living in Sunvillage.
At the end of 2012 with the cold weather, considering that the children in Sunvillage may be short of winter clothes, the third party branch of China Duty Free Group (CDF) as a socially responsible group immediately established contact with Sunvillage, and invited the sixth and ninth union groups of the Company to carry out a heartwarming activity together named “Endless Love to Sunvillage” for the children in Sunvillage. Meanwhile, the party members and colleagues in the Department of Tobacco & Wine Marketing, Ship Supply & Service, and Logistics, as well as Shopping Rebate Program Group actively responded to the proposition from the third party branch and their union groups. As a result, more than 200 old clothes and some toys and books were raised within just two weeks. Furthermore, the third party branch also purchased 100 sets of new gloves and scarves, 5 basketballs and 5 footballs, 3 boxes of mugs, 2 boxes of speakers and 1 box of cleaning products, totalling 17 large boxes of items.
On December 19th, commissioned by Li Jian, Secretary of the Party Branch, the party members in Beijing of the third party branch went to Sunvillage in Shunyi District to give loving donations under the members of the branch committee such as Comrade Yang Ning and Liu Ruhong, and swiftly delivered their love and warmth to the hands and even the hearts of the children in Sunvillage. A little love may change the world, and a little contribution may create a vast world for our hearts. So let’s stretch our hands and open our hearts to make the children in Sunvillage feel more love and care in such a cold winter.
