• Four Consecutive Years of CDF Group being in the Top 500 Companies in China’s Service Industry


     The success of the Eighteenth National Congress of the Communist Party of China is a milestone for the social and economic development of China. It also brings fresh vigor to China’s duty free industry. CDF will improve and upgrade its service and implement the spirit of this congress with responsive action. Not long ago at the Conference of China's top 500 Enterprises and Summit Conference for China’s Large-scale Enterprises in 2012, the China Association of Enterprises and the China Entrepreneur Association released the list of the “Top 500 Companies in China’s Service Industry” for the eighth consecutive year. CDF (Group) was once again listed among the top 500 companies in China’s service industry. This is the 4th consecutive year this has happened since CDF was first listed in 2009.

     

    Compared with the top 500 in China’s service industry in 2011, those in 2012 have seen a slower increase in scale indicators such as the minimum level to make the list of the top 500 companies, and their operation revenues and assets. Enterprises with assets of more than a hundred billion yuan have shown fast increases in growth and the scale hierarchy shows a pyramid-like pattern with a few very large companies at the top of the list. Compared with last year, CDF has made significant progress, with a rank of 60 places higher. The fourth consecutive year in the list and especially a remarkable jump up the rankings show the power and brand influence of CDF.

     

    Established in 1984, CDF has now become a stereoscopic carrier in the service industry with its business involving the sea, land and sky. It has formed long-term cooperation relationships with over 300 top luxury brands around the world. 200 direct chain stores and joint duty free shops are in operation at airports, borders, train stations and other locations, making CDF a duty free operator with all-categorical duty free stores and the most retail outlets within one country.

     

    In the 12th five-year plan, promotion in the service industry has become the strategic focus for improving and upgrading the industrial structure. CDF has always carried out the spirit of the 12th five-year plan and has constantly developed the diversified travel retail industry. With the negative situation of a sluggish global economy, the European debt crisis and a decreasing number of visitors from the main source countries, CDF has taken advantage of the Chinese government’s policy of increasing domestic demand, the fast development of China’s luxury market and the upgrade of consumption of China. In the past year, as the leading force of China’s duty free industry, CDF has been preparing for danger during times of safety, eagerly overcoming difficulties and bravely being creative. It has reached its own high ground in terms of achievements and scale and has led the whole duty free industry in making giant strides forward. In the TFWA Duty Free Goods Exhibition opening on 22nd October, the most authorized publication, the Moodie Report, released its special edition, China Duty Free Group - Travel Retail's Rising Star, reporting in detail about this Chinese enterprise in a special edition, which drew plenty of attention from the travel retail market around the world.

     

    As a model for the duty free industry, CDF continuously keeps up upgrading its services and accelerating innovations in products and service modes in order to exert an even bigger brand influence and become a representative of the whole industry. In April, 2011, CDF successfully conducted the program of Jinbaolai International Duty Free Store in Jinmen, Taiwan and other similar programs. For the first time, it provided premium and swift duty free shopping experiences for the tourists from inland China and Taiwan Island by exporting management and operations. This August, CDF successfully took on the program for the development of the departure floor at Shanghai Hongqiao High-speed Railway Station. Its business extended to the field of high-speed railway for the first time, realizing the change in the enterprise’s business range from small-scale and single travel retail projects to large-scale and varied travel retail projects. All the great achievements above show an active attempt at providing a business layout and service innovation.

Since the implementation of the off-island duty free policy, the Sanya Duty Free Store of CDF successfully survived the tests of the national day of golden week, spring festival golden week and the adjustment to Hainan’s new off-island policy, offering the shoppers a high-end shopping environment, swift logistics, guarantee in the goods’ quality and high-quality sales services. All these factors led to a positive influence on society and achieved praise from the customers, the government, the press and all other parts of society. Its business revenues constantly increased and the company was named the “the best travel shop in the activity of racing to be the best in Hainan of 2011”. Up to now, Sanya Duty Free Store has been preparing itself for the double festivals of the Christmas and the New Year by stocking plenty of goods, optimizing storage and logistics and deeply integrating its services. Sanya Duty Free Store will also cooperate with the Sanya Begonia Bay Shopping Center which will go through a test period in 2014 to provide the consumers with more meticulous and considerate services.
