On September 11, Chairman and General Manager of CITS Wang Weimin visited Hengqin New District, Zhuhai, during which he held talks with Member of Municipal Standing Committee of Zhuhai, Secretary of the Party Committee of Hengqin New District Liu Jia and Member of the Party Group of Zhuhai Municipal Government and Director of the Administration Committee of Hengqin New District Niu Jing on cooperation between both sides. Vice General Manager of CITS Peng Hui, General Manager Assistant Chen Zhixin, Chairman of MCC Real Estate Co., Ltd. Liu Fuming and Vice President Feng Xiangli, Vice Directors of the Administration Committee of Hengqin New District Cai Lingyan and Wang Ruisen also attended the meeting.
Chairman Wang Weimin briefly introduced the profile, major businesses and future development strategies of CITS Group while proposing the strategic conception for future cooperation based on the strategic planning for development of Hengqin New District. He expressed his optimism for the outlook of Hengqin New District as he pointed out this area enjoyed favorable location, policy support and convenient transportation. In the light of the policy and location advantages of Hengqin New District and the global tourism network and brand strength of CITS, such cooperation would be mutually supplementary with vast potentials, especially in the aspect of duty free tourism, Hengqin New District possessed good potentiality for the development of an island duty free zone. It was expected that both sides would actively engage in the partnership and gain relevant policy support with joint efforts, hence building Hengqin New District into a new duty free tourist attraction in China.
Secretary of the Party Committee Liu Jia warmly welcomed Wang and his team and spoke highly of the contributions made by CITS to the development of Zhuhai over the years. She elaborated that since the launching of Hengqin New District development project, revolutionizing changes had taken place in Hengqin Island, which awed the governmental officials on visit. As the 3rd new district on national level, Hengqin New District with favorable policies had been dedicated to creating an internationalized, law-based business environment to attract global business giants. She expressed hopes for CITS to invest in Hengqin New District and eagerness to cooperation with CITS for the implementation of island duty free policy in Hengqin, hence promoting its development as a world class resort for leisure tourism in the adjacency of Hong Kong and Macau, hence achieving mutually beneficial and win-win cooperation as well as common development.
After the talks, Chairman Wang Weimin and his team inspected the plan of Hengqin New District as well as key areas including temporary ports and business areas, followed by a visit to Xinhai Land Project developed by MCC Real Estate Group.
